Froebel College takes its name from Friedrich Froebel, founder of the Kindergarten movement. Froebel believed that all children learn by activity and play and that teaching should be respectful and guided by the teacher in response to the child's activities. The college places an important emphasis on the creative arts in the education of primary school children. Froebel believed that through activities children can learn to overcome many of life's difficulties, come to respect one another, the world they live in and begin to live in harmony with fellow citizens.
The college's association with Trinity affords students an opportunity to study on the Trinity campus, taking a variety of courses in Education, Psychology, Child Development, Sociology, among others. Students are able to avail of all the student activities at Trinity including social, sporting and student club events. Froebel College students also have access to the comprehensive library and research facilities of Trinity. www.tcd.ie
