Bachelor in Education Mature Applicants

The 2012 Mature Students Competition is now open.

Froebel College welcomes mature applicants who wish to be considered for a place on the Bachelor of Education Degree course since the life experience they bring is an enrichment to the course and to the College community. The Department of Education and Skills directs the Colleges of Education that they may reserve up to around 10% of their quota of places in the B.Ed programme for mature students.

Mature students may apply for the Froebel Maynooth B.Ed course in three ways:

1) by applying through the CAO only,

2) by applying directly to Froebel College only, and

3) by applying through the CAO and also directly to Froebel College.

The CAO deadline for applications from mature students is 1 February, 2012. The CAO application will be considered on the basis of the points obtained in Leaving Certificate examinations alone. The direct application process to Froebel College (and other Colleges of Education) will be assessed on the basis of an interview and an oral Irish examination. Those applicants who fulfill all the entry requirements will be placed on an order of merit following the results of their interview. The application process by applying directly to Froebel College is now open.
